Marangu Day Trip

After breakfast, drive to Marangu village for a walking tour of the waterfalls at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Then, take a tour of the nearby coffee and banana plantations. The tour of the Chagga caverns, which were utilized by ancient Tanzanian tribes to shelter themselves from Maasai warriors hunting for food, water, and cattle during the dry season, is the most interesting portion of the trip. In the afternoon, dine at a local restaurant on African food. Return to Arusha in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
